Foam packaging, in brief, is the packaging made of foam. Generally speaking, foam packaging is mainly made up of EPP material or EPS raw material, which is processed by hot working through the mould. The packaging product is commonly called "foam". Expansible polystyrene is an ideal packaging material, through the molding process, can be processed into various shapes, different thickness of packaging products. In the case of high load, the material can achieve the function of cushioning and shock absorption through deformation, energy absorption and decomposition, and has the function of heat preservation and insulation. EPS packaging products are generally white, and can be produced according to the requirements of color.
[Main usage characteristics]
1、The quality is light. Part of the EPS package space is replaced by gases, each cubic decimeter volume contains 3-6 million independent airtight bubbles. So it is several times larger than the volume of plastic.
2、It has the ability to absorb impact load. When the packing product of EPS is subjected to impact loading, the gas in the foam is dissipated and dissipated by stagnation and compression, and the foam body gradually terminates the impact load with smaller negative acceleration. Therefore, it has better shockproof effect.
3、Good heat insulation. The weighted average values of thermal conductivity of pure EPS (108cal/m.h.) and air (90cal/m.h.) were obtained.
4、Sound insulation is good. EPS product sound insulation mainly through two ways, one is to absorb acoustic energy, reduce reflection and transmission; the other is to eliminate resonance, reduce noise.
5、Anti aging and corrosion resistance. Except for prolonged exposure to high energy radiation, there is no obvious aging phenomenon. It can tolerate many chemicals, such as dilute acid, dilute alkali, methanol, lime, bitumen and so on.
6、Antistatic performance. Because EPS products have low conductivity, it is easy to produce its own charged phenomenon in friction, which will not affect the general consumer products. Antistatic EPS products should be used for high-quality electronic products, especially for large-scale integrated block structural components of modern electrical appliances.
